At Praticus Studios, songwriting is more than putting words to music — it’s about finding your unique voice and learning how to share it with the world. Our Songwriting Program guides students through the full creative process, from first spark of inspiration to polished performance.
What Students Learn
Lyric Writing – Explore storytelling, imagery, rhythm, and emotion. Students learn how to express themselves authentically, whether writing for performance or personal reflection.
Melody & Harmony – Discover how melodies are built, how chords support a song, and how to craft progressions that bring lyrics to life.
Song Structure – Learn the building blocks of verses, choruses, bridges, and hooks to shape ideas into complete songs.
Performance & Recording – Share your work in a safe, supportive environment. Lessons may include basic demo recording, performance coaching, or preparing songs for auditions and showcases.
Our Approach
Neuroaffirming & Inclusive – Every songwriter has a different creative process. Some think in words first, others in sound, rhythm, or feeling. We adapt our teaching style to support each student’s natural way of creating.
Collaborative – Students work one-on-one with instructors, but are also encouraged to collaborate with peers through studio opportunities and showcases.
Growth at Your Pace – Some students may write a full song in a month; others may spend weeks refining a single verse. We celebrate progress, not speed.
Who It’s For
Beginners who want to try writing their first song.
Intermediate students who already play an instrument or sing and want to expand their creativity.
Advanced performers looking to build a professional portfolio of original work.
When students finish a session in the Songwriting Program, they don’t just leave with words and music — they leave with confidence, tools for self-expression, and the pride of having created something entirely their own.
