3D Tech for Teenagers
Our 3D Printing and Modelling classes are designed to teach individuals with little to no experience how to take their ideas and create them using state of the art technology. Whether its an idea seen in real life or a 3D model from a video game we can teach kids how to replicate it and make it their own.
Here is a breakdown of what will be learned during the 10 week course:
The basics of 3D modelling (Tinkercad, Fusion360, Blender and Z-Brush)
How to design your own model or pattern from scratch
The parts of a 3D printer and how they work together (Both Resin and FDM)
Slicing your 3D Model for printing
Post Processing of your prints (curing, sanding, painting, sealing)
Scanning physical objects into the Virtual World
Modelling in virtual reality
All 3D filament and post-processing tools are provided free of charge. If a student's print requires an electronic component (LED's, Battery Pack, Switches) we can order it through BC Robotics in Nanaimo or a similar robotics shop in Vancouver for an extra charge. If you are looking to make something that requires said components please contact us early so we can help you identify what you will need.
All Students will receive:
Five to Ten 3D Prints, some designed from their own mind
a spot at our Quarterly Art Show
All students receive the opportunity to have their prints showcased at our quarterly Art Gallery.
For Ideas on what you can make check out the Gallery for previous student entries.
